FAQs

Think of nutrition counseling the way you think of any therapy. It’s not simply being told what to eat, but instead of focuses on your behavior, beliefs, and relationship with food in order to achieve your health goals and sustain them long term.

During your initial session, I will do a comprehensive assessment. We will discuss your reason for seeking counseling and then go through a medical history, family history, symptoms, diet and exercise history, habits and patterns, and mental health. This is so that we can dive deep into holistic wellness while keeping your main concern at the forefront of our goal setting.
-
Not necessarily. Nutrition counseling is about behavior changes and nutrition education. I will guide you through what you need to know to effectively and efficiently plan your meals. If during our sessions we decide that a meal plan would be appropriate and beneficial to you, we will discuss options, but a meal plan is not included in the cost or timeframe of the session.
-
During each session you will be given verbal and sometimes written education, constructive feedback, and behavior modification tools. At the end of each session, you will have clear goals in the SMART format to work on before the next session.
-
Each session is just under one hour.
-
